Most newbies in the Network marketing industry always ask how to drive  traffic to their website or Blog. I always tell them the same answer, Article Marketing.

One of the most important elements of your Article is keyword density. You want to have enough relevant keywords in your article, so the search engines will rank the article high in the search results. Do not use to many keywords in your article that it is un-readable.

Once you have your article written, read it aloud and see how it sounds. You want it to provide solutions to your prospects problems. If they feel like you are truly trying to help them with your article, they will want to learn more about you.

If you are sending them to your Blog, include a  link to another relevant article that is on your blog. This is how to properly utilize the resource box.

This is in my opinion one of the worst mistakes that you can make on Social Media sites. People can get very irritated if you are continually throwing your opportunity in their face with every message you are posting. DO NOT SPAM your friends or followers on these sites. If you do this, your account will be shut down.

2. Taking Instead Of Giving To The Community

You want to give to the Social Media community. This is a place that you want to share funny-videos, great quotes, pictures of you and your family, videos that provide value, good clean jokes, and anything else that you find interesting.

3. Not Building Relationships

When you are on Social Media sites, one of the most IMPORTANT things you need to focus on is BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS. You must do this because people want to do business with people they Know, Like and Trust.

You need to follow up with the people that requested you as a friend. Find out a little bit about them. What kinds of things that they like to do, if they are married, have children, what they do for a living. All of these things will become extremely important to you later on in the relationship. Once you find out what kinds of things that they are into, it will be that much easier to approach them later on with a business opportunity.

4. Not Participating In Groups

On Facebook they have a great community of groups that you can join.Participate in the groups on whatever Niche that you are targeting in your Marketing business.

The key to this is to actually be a part of the group. Post feedback to others that may have questions. Create a new topic of discussion. Offer tips and advice.

5. Not Utilizing A Blog

You should be directing all of your friends or followers to your BLOG! This is your own personal piece of real estate on the Internet. As Mr. Perry Belcher says ” Your Blog is like your house, you want to invite your friends over to your house for a party”.

This is where you will be introducing your friends or followers to your business opportunities. You should have several places on your Blog to capture their contact information.

You should be applying the 90-10 principle in Social Media Marketing. 90% of your posts should be personal, and 10% of your posts can be business related.

Let me give you some scary statistics right here in the beginning. You may have heard this before, but it is vital that you know this. The fail rate for the Network Marketing industry is 97%. That means that only 3% of Network Marketers are successful. This is the reality.

So why is it that only 3% of Network Marketers are making any money in this industry? Is it because they are smarter than you? Or is it because they have the magic code to make money? Well the answer is NO!!

This 3% of successful Network Marketers were in the 97% category at one time or another. The way they got out of this category is they found their personal solutions to the problems they were facing. If they were using Affiliate Marketing methods, and they were not achieving their desired results, they moved on to a more successful strategy that was working for them. The KEY to this is to be very ORGANIZED. You have to track your results on a consistent basis. One method I use to track all of my campaigns, is to use separate folders on my desktop. I have separate folders for each one of my campaigns. I update this on a daily basis, to see which one is working the best. When you find which one is working for you, just DUPLICATE your efforts in this specific area. It really is that simple.

So why does one person have massive success in Social Media Marketing, and the other person has no success at all in this area. There are (3) crucial elements that you need to have in order to be a successful Network Marketer. Your potential customers or prospects have to (1) KNOW, (2) LIKE, and (3) TRUST YOU. You must build relationships with you customers or prospects. How many times have you done business with someone because one of your friends suggested you go see Larry down at the Honda dealership, as an example. This has happened to me many times. You went there to do business with Larry because you already trusted him.

I recently had a friend tell me that the Network Marketing industry is like trying to open a combination lock. You keep spinning the lock trying to open it, but the lock won’t open. After several attempts, you get frustrated and throw the lock down. This is a lot like what Network Marketers go through when they feel like nothing is working for them. You feel like giving up or quitting, but DON”T.

After a few days of pondering your next move, you start to get to work. You start studying different Marketing methods, watching training videos, reading articles, joining Marketing forums, doing google searches………..

Now you have a better understanding of how the Network Marketing industry works. You are starting to feel CONFIDENT about the things you have learned. You BELIEVE in yourself. The lock is sitting there next to your computer. You pick up that lock with renewed energy and confidence, and start spinning that dial. First you spin to the right, than to the left, and finally back to the right! Your heart is pounding like like you have never felt before, and sweat is starting to drip from your forehead. You then take a deep breath and pull on the lock. An amazing thing happens at that moment, THE LOCK OPENS.

Congratulations! You are well on your way to explode your Network Marketing business, and join that elite 3% of successful Marketers.

One method to choosing a product would be to pick something in your Niche that you already know about, for example Weight Loss or Fitness. Also look at the most popular. This will give you an idea what are the top selling products. Pick one that you feel comfortable promoting. Once you choose a program Click-bank will assign you a Hop-link for this vendor. This is the link you will use when you start Marketing this product or program. You can also click on that vendors site and go to the Affiliate section. Usually in this section the vendor will have several affiliate resources to help you promote their product.

Once you start generating some money from your Affiliate Marketing, you can venture off into the many other methods of Online Marketing.

Let me leave you with one more statistic: Total online sales reached $145.6 Billion in 2008, according to Plunkett Research. Sales are expected to grow to $183.7 by the year 2012.
