It was nice and cool up there

We were up at Whitewater, near Palm Springs Ca

Raquel loved the sound of the running water
The weather in Southern California has been extremely hot for the past week. We have had many days of around 105 Degrees.
My wife Raquel and I went to the Palm Springs area. We found a great place up in the mountains called Whitewater. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous. The temperature was about 85 degrees, with a nice breeze . There were several places that you could pull off to the side of the road, and walk right down next to the creek. I just love the sound of the running water.
We saw several large native Trout swimming through the creek. Made me wish that I had brought my fishing pole.
There are also several places that you can go hiking. Raquel is almost 6 months pregnant, so we did not venture to far off the trail.
This was a great way to escape the heat!
Leave me a comment and let me know what kinds of things you enjoy doing.
Make it a great day!

I have always enjoyed fishing since I was a little kid. I would ride my bike up to a lake that was close to my house when I was about 8 years old. I would stay there until I actually caught fish. I was very dedicated.
I was introduced to Sport Fishing when I was in my 20′s. I was immediately hooked. We have some of the best fishing out here in southern California. There are many different options when you book trips like these. You have a choice on how many days you would like to go for. I like to do the 1 1/2 day trips. These trips usually leave from the San Diego area, and then head off to fish the coast of Mexico.
These pictures were taken on one of my trips with my best friend John Bell in May of 2007. This was one of my best trips of Tuna fishing. We caught mostly Yellow-fin and Albacore . The weather was absolutely perfect. This is a trip that I will always remember.
This is how I like to spend my off time away from work!
Hope you enjoy them!

Kirk Douglas's book signing for Let's Face It
This was another amazing day. This photo was taken in October of 2007 at the Costco in Palm Desert California. Kirk Douglas was there to sign his new book which is entitled Let’s Face It. I was very excited to meet Mr. Douglas in person. I have watched many movies that he has done over the years. Mr. Douglas is a living legend in my opinion. At the time this photo was taken, Mr. Douglas was 91 years old. He was very funny and outgoing. At one point when he was signing an autograph for a young lady, he climbed on top of the table to take a photo with her. He was quite a character.
At the end of the day Mr. Douglas and his wife Anne gave me some very good personal advice that I will never forget. They both told me that the key to a long marriage is to just cherish every moment that you spend together like it is your last!
I will never forget the day I got to hang out with the one and only Mr. Kirk Douglas!
Make it a great day!

While working for Costco I have had many chances to meet some celebrities. There was one day when I got to hang out with one of my idols. His name is Mick Fleetwood, from the group Fleetwood Mac. I can remember growing up listening to all of my favorite songs from Fleetwood Mac. I think Dreams is one of my favorites. I was told that Mr. Fleetwood was going to be signing bottles of his wine at the Costco in La Quinta California. I was more than willing to go down there and help with this event.
I was so excited to actually meet Mr. Fleetwood in person. I had no idea how he would be. He was actually one of the most down to earth people I have ever met in my life. He was joking and laughing with me the entire day he was there signing his bottles of wine. There were hundreds of people that showed up for this event, and Mr. Fleetwood made sure everyone there got a photo, and an autograph from him.
This is a day I will always remember!!
Make it a great day!
